Costa Brava Open Tour Stops

The Open Tour route is made by two vehicles: an open top bus and a touristic train. They are connected at the Pinya de Rosa botanic garden in Blanes

Marimurtra gardens

These gardens, are set on the cliffs side. They were created in 1921 by the German scientist Karl Faust. Years later, the Marimurtra gardens became one of the most important biological stations in the Mediterranean. It combines not only native plants and trees, but also species from all over the world, such as palmtrees from Chile, bamboos, or african and mexican typical trees, amongst others.

Pinya de Rosa Garden

In 1954, Fernando Rivière de Caralt created this botanical garden. It's particular feature is adapting tropical plant species to the Mediterranean climate. That is why plants and trees, such as cactus, opuntias or aloes, amongst others, live in a rich context of native vegetation.

Santa Clotilde Gardens

These gardens were designed in 1919 by Nicolau Maria Rubió i Tudurí. They are set on the top of the cliff side with impressive sea views. The main features of the garden are its clear Italian influence and the formal coherence between the gardens and the architectural work around it. It has several marble sculptures and its remarkable absence of flowers, in clear contrast to the great variety of plants.

Open from 10 h. to 20 h. Monday closed.

The Modernist Cemetery

The Modernist cemetery in Lloret de Mar was designed at the end of the nineteenth century and was built during the early years of the twentieth. We can find sculptures from: Josep Puig i Cadafalch, Antoni M. Gallissà i Soqué, Vicenç Artigas i Albertí, Bonaventura Conill i Montobbio and some from Gaudi's disciples.

Museu del Mar (Sea Museum)

In the old Casa Garriga, we find the history of Lloret and its strong connection with the sea. A journey from the Mare Nostrum to the present time.

Open Monday-Saturday from 10 h. to 13 h. and from 16 h. to 20 h.

Sunday from 10 h. to 13 h. and from 16 h. to 19 h.

Santa Cristina Shrine

It's earliest reference dates back to 1376. The current shrine, built at the end of the XVIII century, is neo-classical with an extraordinary marble altar made in Italy and an interesting collection of votive offerings and miniature ships.

Open, July and August from 5 h. to 7h. Monday closed.

Sant Joan's Castle

It is situated on the top of a hill, dating between the Xth and XIth centuries. The castle acted as a watchtower to prevent possible attacks from the sea. In 1992 the tower was restored, enabling visitors to enjoy the spectacular views. Finally in 2001 it was converted into a heritage site.
